Be an Instructor

Do you have knowledge that would benefit the WordPress community? WordCamp Singapore is now accepting workshop applications.

Workshops are at the core of every WordCamp providing a chance to be involved and contribute back to WordPress and/or the community.  We’re looking for workshops on a variety of topics to cover different stages of the WordPress journey from beginner to expert.

Workshops for all skill levels will be considered, and a session on setting up your first website with a selection of plugins can be as valuable as a technical workshop of how custom fields are implemented within WordPress.

WordCamp Singapore workshops applications close midnight, Wednesday 31st July, 2019.

Once submissions close, the selection process will commence and we’ll contact everyone as soon as possible via email to confirm details once our voting has been finalised.

TOPICS

All topics should be related to WordPress. At previous WordCamps’ we’ve had workshops on WordPress development, Elementor, copywriting, blogging, design, marketing, business, and SEO.

  • Front end development
  • Back end development
  • WordPress translations
  • WordPress core contributions

We’re also specifically interested in any talks on the following topics

  • Site creation case-studies
  • WordPress & Javascript development (Gutenberg, etc)
  • Beginners workshops, SEO, Page Builders, etc

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

If you haven’t spoken at a conference before, don’t let that hold you back! We do not require you to be famous, or a “guru”, or have a special certification, all we ask is that you be able to present your chosen topic passionately and respectfully.

We do have some general guidelines for talks, though, and here they are: Your talk should be…

  • directly related to WordPress, or immediately applicable and relevant to our audience
  • respectful of the WordPress community, the WordCamp code of conduct, and the GPL
  • something that interests you, that you want to share!

EVENT DETAILS

  • Workshops are 40 minutes in length. Expect to have between 10 to 15 minutes for Q&A.
  • Workshops will be on Saturday, 17th August 2019.
  • Instructors will be offered free admission to WordCamp Singapore, but will not be otherwise compensated.

WordCamp Singapore workshops applications close midnight, Wednesday 31st July, 2019.

If you’d like to propose multiple topics, please submit the form multiple times, once for each topic.

If you have any questions about speaking, or if you have trouble accessing or using the talk submission form, please email us or tweet us at @WordCampSG.
